Message Title: Buddhist Perspectives on Spirituality: Meditation, Behavior, and Beliefs

August Peterson is a priest in the Soto Shu tradition of Zen Buddhism.   After spending nearly a decade in China and Taiwan, he served as a Hospital Corpsman and Buddhist Lay Leader in the United States Navy, before receiving ordination at Sozenji Buddhist Temple, Montebello, CA.  He now serves as a staff chaplain at the VA Loma Linda Medical Center focusing on palliative care and holistic mental health. He has published on the topics of Buddhist chaplaincy and secular mindfulness, and his doctorate focused on the ethical considerations of Buddhist Chaplains in the US Military.
